Hey!! I'm Jo and I am a recent graduate from NYU Tisch School of the Arts where I studied Drama and minored in Psychology at the College of Arts and Science! While at NYU Tisch I received training from the New Studio on Broadway and Lee Strasberg Film & Theatre Institute.

As a Pakistani, Puerto Rican, Irish New Yorker I am eager to represent my many ethnic backgrounds and pave the way for future multiracial artists perspectives and stories on stage. 

 

Among many years of singing, dancing and acting training, I've along the way found a new appreciation for the community and societal importance of theater. I am fascinated by the origins of theater in Ancient Greece and how at one point in time theater was society's main catalyst for community, philosophy and political discussions. I am curious about how we can stretch the "boundaries" of theater and the actor-spectator relationship and in what ways we can effectively emphasize theater's Ancient roots.
